The Underwriting Assistant shall be responsible for analysing, assessing and underwritingGroup Life risks presented to the Company through proposals, declarations, renewals and amendments, in accordance with the Company’s approved underwriting guidelines, pricing parameters, reinsurance arrangements and delegated authority limits.

Responsibilities
Assess new and renewal Group Life risks based on member data, benefits,occupation, claims
Experience

- Prepare and review quotations, applying approved rates, underwriting guidelines and delegated authority limits.
- Determine appropriate underwriting terms, including rates, loadings, exclusions, benefit limits and special conditions.
- Assess medical evidence for members exceeding the Free Cover Limit and communicate underwriting decisions.
- Identify cases requiring reinsurance and coordinate placement or approval before accepting the risk.
- Review renewal performance and recommend appropriate pricing and terms based on claims
- and portfolio exposure.
- Review onboarding documents, KYC/AML requirements, premiums and member schedules before policy issuance.
- Review policy documents, endorsements and scheme changes to ensure they reflect approved underwriting terms.
- Provide technical guidance to clients, intermediaries, sales teams, Claims and other internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain renewal reports, including renewal status, premium at risk, outstanding
- Required:
- Degree in actuarial Science, BCOM Insurance, Statistics
- Progress in Diploma in Insurance
- 2 years’ relevant work
