- Analyse fleet requirements, utilization and vehicle-wise operating costs.
- Identify excess, idle and under-utilized vehicles and recommend corrective action.
- Conduct own-versus-rented fleet cost-benefit analysis.
- Monitor fuel consumption, kilometres per litre and fuel costs.
- Control vehicle repairs, maintenance, tyres and battery expenses.
- Verify transporter invoices against contracts, rates, trips, kilometres and supporting documents.
- Review employee vehicle usage and reimbursement claims.
- Manage accounting and reconciliation of import and logistics costs, including freight, customs, clearing, inland transport, demurrage and detention.
- Prepare monthly fleet and logistics MIS reports.
- Identify and implement opportunities for fleet, route, fuel, vendor and logistics cost optimization.
- Maintain a transport cost-saving tracker and quantify actual savings.
- Ensure accurate transport expense booking, accruals, provisions, reconciliations and month-end closure.
