Duties and
Responsibilities
- at this level include:
- Teaching and evaluating relevant subjects in their discipline areas;
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans;
- Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students on matters related to their academics; Inducting new trainers and trainee lecturers; Implementing competence-based curriculum;
- Conducting research in the area of specialisation and supervising students on research projects;
- Developing at least three (3) teaching manuals;
- Developing and reviewing policies, standards, systems and processes relevant to curricula (when deployed as Curriculum Officer);
- Mentoring and coaching staff on curriculum development; and
- Conducting basic, applied and action research to address knowledge gaps related to curriculum development.
- Qualifications
- For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institution;
- Valid practicing licence from the relevant regulatory body where applicable;
- Been registered by Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB);
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
