- Seeking and disserminating knowlwedge through research, publication, teaching and supervision of students doing project research, grant seeking and curriculum development so as to contribite to the mandate of the University.
- Developing fundable research proposals that can attract grants from internal and external donors.
- Coordinating research in collaboration with local, regional and international collaborators in order to tackle different issues in the society.
- Desserminating research findings through publication of journals to share findings and knowledge to the public.
- Training, mentoring, supervising and evaluating students carrying out research to ensure the quality of research submitted is of high standards.
- Reviewing research proposals in the University to ensure they can attract grants.
- Providing consultancy services to solve community challenges and contribute to development of society at large.
