Position Overview
The Rice Plant Operator is an active, on-the-floor operational role responsible for the daily execution, physical management, and mechanical upkeep of LBDA's modern rice milling facility. Working directly on the plant floor, you will run the processing line from end to end—setting up equipment, monitoring grain flow, identifying mechanical faults early, and conducting first-line preventative maintenance to keep operations moving efficiently with minimal downtime. (Reporting to the Deputy Director Engineering Services)

Responsibilities
- Plant & Machinery Operations: Set up, run, and actively monitor commercial rice milling machinery across all stages, including pre-cleaners, de-huskers, paddy separators, rice polishers, thickness graders, and color sorters.
- Real-Time Fault Detection & Diagnostics: Continuously observe running production lines to detect early signs of mechanical failure, abnormal vibrations, unusual noises, belt slippage, overheating, or line blockages before they cause major breakdowns.
- First-Line Mechanical Maintenance: Perform hands-on preventative maintenance and minor technical repairs—such as lubricating bearings, adjusting tension belts, clearing blockages, and replacing worn screens or rubber rollers—on the shop floor.
- Quality & Yield Control: Conduct regular physical sampling during production runs to test moisture levels, broken grain percentages, and polish levels. Fine-tune machine calibrations to maximize total head rice recovery.
- Production Line Flow & Throughput: Monitor raw paddy input rates and packaged output to maintain an even, continuous processing pace across shifts.
- Safety & Floor Compliance: Enforce strict occupational health, safety, and hygiene standards. Maintain a clean, hazard-free production floor to prevent dust buildup and operational accidents.
