For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Geology, Environmental and Natural Resources Management, Climate Change, Occupational Health & Safety, Soil Water & Environmental Engineering, Environmental Chemistry or Environmental Planning Management & Policy from a university recognized in Kenya.

Responsibilities
- This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and
- will include: –
- collecting and compiling environmental, health and safety data related to oil and gas;
- updating and maintaining geospatial databases for environmental monitoring in oil and gas areas;
- participating in environmental, health and safety audits for petroleum operations; and
- participating in report preparation on oil and gas health safety and environment matters;
- participating in promotion of public awareness on petroleum-related environmental and safety issues;
