Responsibilities
Machine Operation Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure machines are running efficiently to meet daily production targets. Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and optimize production output. Start up and shut down equipment safely at the beginning and end of each shift. Monitor machine performance and identify any abnormalities during operation. Production & Quality Control Produce products that meet established quality specifications and customer requirements. Conduct routine quality checks and inspections throughout the production process. Identify defective products and report quality issues promptly. Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and wastage. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards. Preventive Maintenance Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance. Identify mechanical or operational faults and report them to the maintenance team. Assist maintenance personnel during machine servicing and repairs. Ensure machines are maintained in optimal working condition to minimize downtime. Safety and Housekeeping Operate machinery safely and in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Wear and properly use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S and good manufacturing practices. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment malfunctions immediately. Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and finished products. Inventory & Material Handling Monitor raw material availability and notify supervisors of shortages. Handle materials carefully to minimize waste and product damage. Ensure proper labelling and storage of finished products and production materials. Documentation & Reporting Complete production reports accurately and on time. Record machine performance, production output, downtime, and maintenance activities. Communicate production issues and shift handover information effectively. KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from the National Youth Service (NYS) or another reputable institution. Minimum of 1–2 years
