Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead and oversee the organisation's day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, financial record-keeping and up to the minute reporting.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial records and transactions.
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and the Board.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance against approved budgets and provide clear explanations for significant variances.
- Maintain appropriate financial documentation and ensure records are organised and readily available for review or audit.
- Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Own and oversee the organisation's statutory and regulatory compliance obligations within the Kenyan business environment.
- Ensure accurate, timely preparation and submission of

- Budgeting, Cash Flow & Commercial Performance
- Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process in collaboration with management and operational teams.
- Prepare rolling cash-flow forecasts and monitor the organisation's liquidity and working-capital position.
- Monitor accounts receivable, collections and supplier payment obligations to support healthy cash flow.
- Provide financial oversight for events, projects and major operational activities.
- Prepare and monitor event/project budgets and analyse actual expenditure against approved budgets.
- Evaluate the financial performance and profitability of individual events and projects and provide post-event financial analysis.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, improved resource utilisation and enhanced profitability.
- Provide management and the Board with forward-looking financial information to support commercial and investment decisions.
- Asset & Equipment Management
- Oversee the financial control and accountability of the organisation's high-value entertainment and events equipment and other significant assets.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset register, including equipment description, identification details, location, condition and ownership status.
- Establish and enforce appropriate controls governing the
- release, movement, allocation, utilisation and return of equipment
- deployed for events and projects.
- Ensure all equipment released for an event or assignment is properly authorised, documented and assigned to the responsible team member, project or location.
- Reconcile equipment released against equipment returned following each event or assignment.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and ensure that any loss, damage, theft, misuse or unexplained discrepancy is promptly documented, investigated and escalated.
- Work closely with the Operations and Events teams to strengthen asset tracking, accountability and utilisation.
- Provide financial input into decisions relating to the acquisition, replacement, maintenance, disposal and investment in equipment and other capital assets.
- Ensure capital expenditure and asset acquisitions are appropriately authorised, recorded, classified and accounted for.
- Internal Controls, Risk & Audit
- Design, implement and continuously improve internal financial controls appropriate to the organisation's commercial operations.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval processes, expenditure controls and financial accountability across the organisation.
- Identify financial, compliance, operational and asset-related risks and provide management and the Board with clear, actionable recommendations.
- Maintain an effective risk and control framework to safeguard the organisation's financial and physical assets.
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits and coordinate the provision of accurate and timely supporting documentation.
- Maintain an audit-ready environment and ensure that audit findings and recommendations are appropriately addressed.
- Investigate significant financial discrepancies and control breaches and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Board & Management Advisory
- Provide the Board and senior management with reliable, timely and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports, analysis and presentations for Board meetings and other governance forums as required.
- Highlight emerging financial, regulatory, operational and commercial risks to the Board and management.
- Provide recommendations on financial sustainability, cost management, capital expenditure, cash flow and resource allocation.
- Act as a trusted financial and commercial partner to management, translating financial information into practical business insights.
- Financial Governance & Organisational Capacity
- Develop, implement and periodically review finance policies, procedures and approval frameworks.
- Promote a culture of financial accountability, transparency and responsible use of organisational resources.
- Build financial literacy across the organisation by equipping non-finance teams with the knowledge required to manage budgets and understand the financial implications of their decisions.
- Train and support relevant staff on financial procedures, controls, documentation and compliance requirements.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in the management of organisational funds and information.

- CPA (K) designation issued through KASNEB, or equivalent ACCA certification in good standing
