Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously review EHS policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with OSHA (Kenya) and relevant East African statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits on telecom, electrical, and civil works sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Carry out risk assessments and develop method statements for high-risk activities such as tower climbing, working at heights, excavation, and electrical installations.
- Facilitate and deliver EHS induction, training, and toolbox talks for staff, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare root-cause analysis reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, statistics, and reports for management and regulatory reporting purposes.
- Ensure availability, proper use, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all project sites.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., DOSH) and coordinate statutory inspections, permits, and certifications.
- Support the development and testing of emergency response and evacuation plans.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management and promote sustainable site practices.
- Advise project and site teams on EHS best practices during project planning and execution phases.
