Platinum Outsourcing and Logistics Customer Service Imports Jobs in Kenya

Job Summary

Coordinate customer service activities and manage import documentation processes to ensure timely document processing, regulatory compliance, cargo clearance and excellent customer service throughout the import supply chain.

Act as the primary liaison between customers, customs agents, shipping lines, transporters and internal departments to facilitate smooth import operations and cargo movement.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to customer inquiries, provide shipment updates and resolve service-related issues professionally.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
Prepare, review, verify and process import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin and other shipping documents.
Coordinate customs clearance activities with customs agents, shipping lines, transporters and relevant regulatory authorities.
Ensure import documentation complies with customs regulations, statutory requirements and company procedures.
Monitor shipment status, customs clearance progress and delivery timelines.
Communicate shipment delays, exceptions and corrective actions proactively to customers and stakeholders.
Coordinate with operations, finance, warehouse teams, customers and service providers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Maintain accurate shipment records, update tracking systems and prepare operational reports.
Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies, customs clearance delays, demurrage risks and customer complaints.
Support continuous improvement of customer service and import documentation processes.

Qualifications

Diploma in Clearing and
Forwarding or relevant training from KESRA.
Experience in customer service, import documentation, logistics or customs clearance operations.
Knowledge of import procedures, shipping documentation and customs regulations in Kenya.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics or shipment management systems.
