The Role
Zeno is building the backend platform that powers our EV battery-swapping ecosystem — covering vehicle telemetry, swap station orchestration, wallet & payment transactions, and fleet partner management. We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to build and maintain services across our microservices stack, deployed on AWS using Python and Node.js.
Key
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend microservices — Vehicle Service, Swap Station Service, Transaction Management Service, and Wallet Management Service — using Python (FastAPI/Flask) and Node.js (Express)
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs consumed by the App and Web clients
- Work with PostgreSQL/RDS for core domain data (customers, vehicles, fleet partners, battery packs, swap stations) and ClickHouse for vehicle and swap-station telemetry
- Implement and maintain asynchronous, event-driven workflows
- Contribute to wallet/ledger transaction processing with attention to idempotency and data correctness
- Deploy and manage services on AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch)
- Write and maintain data-ingestion logic for high-volume telemetry data
- Participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and follow engineering best practices
- Debug and resolve production issues, including monitoring via CloudWatch Logs and handling dead-letter queue (DLQ) messages for failed transactions
- Collaborate with senior engineers on system design discussions and contribute to technical documentation
- Support CI/CD pipeline maintenance (GitHub Actions)
