Our client, a company that provides innovative solar-powered refrigeration solutions for households, businesses, healthcare facilities, and off-grid communities, is seeking a Mid-Level Finance Officer to be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day finance operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting bookkeeping activities, and ensuring effective financial controls within the organization. The role will involve managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting compliance with company policies and statutory requirements Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, journals, and supporting documentation. Perform daily bookkeeping activities, including recording transactions, managing expenses, and maintaining financial data accuracy. Reconcile bank accounts, customer accounts, supplier accounts, and other financial records regularly. Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes. Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial documents and records. Finance Operations Management Manage daily finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment processing. Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments. Monitor customer collections and follow up on outstanding receivables. Prepare payment schedules and support cash flow management activities. Ensure compliance with internal finance procedures and approval processes. Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare regular financial reports, including expense reports, account summaries, and operational finance updates. Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements. Provide accurate financial information to support business decision-making. Analyze financial data and highlight trends, variances, and areas requiring attention. Tax, Compliance & Controls Support compliance with Kenyan tax regulations and statutory financial requirements. Assist with preparation of documentation required for audits and regulatory reviews. Maintain strong financial controls to minimize errors and ensure accountability. Ensure adherence to company finance policies and procedures. Business & Team Support Collaborate with internal departments to resolve finance-related queries and improve processes. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Provide financial guidance to teams on expense management and financial procedures. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within finance operations. Qualifications & Experience The job holder should have the following qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping roles. Experience managing day-to-day finance operations within a growing organization. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is an added advantage. Knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory requirements is preferred.
