Breeding Officer managing poultry production for breeding farms, requiring a Degree in Veterinary Medicine with knowledge of poultry farming best practices, in an agricultural environment, on-site role. Job summary We are seeking an experienced and reliable Breeding Officer who will be responsible for the poultry production for the Uzima chicken ltd. breeding farms. This includes planning, poultry management, vaccination, implementing bio-security of farms and disease management. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of the poultry farm including feeding, watering, housing, litter management and general care of the poultry. Developing and implementing strategies to maximize production and reduce mortality rates is a key responsibility by analyzing data to improve feeding practices and overall farm efficiency. Enforce strict health and safety standards Ensuring the health and welfare of the poultry is a critical duty includes monitoring diseases, administering vaccines and medicines if need and implementing bio-security measures to prevent outbreaks. Monitor and order feed and other supplies to maintain stock levels. Staff recruits, trains, and supervises farm workers, ensuring that all staff are well-informed about their roles and responsibility. Keep accurate records of poultry health, production and growth. Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of farm equipment. Planning, coordinating team of the poultry farms. Qualifications Knowledge of poultry farming best practices.
