NLAS/DDA/3/2026/4 Qualifications The following are the recognized qualifications for the cadre: At least fifteen (15) years cumulative work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Assistant Director, Administration Services or in a comparable position in the Private or Public sector; Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Administration, Business Administration, Business Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Transport and logistics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Post graduate Diploma in any of the following disciplines: – Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution; Membership to a relevant professional body; Certificate in Leadership Course A valid practicing license where applicable; Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result. Duties and Responsibilities Deputy Director, Administration is responsible for the following functions; In charge of the Development, implementation and review of health administrative department policies, strategies, standards, guidelines and procedures; Coordinating maintenance of workplace environment; Coordinating environmental safety, hygiene and sanitation; Management of administrative personnel; Ensure prudent utilization of resources allocated to the department; Coordinate the overall provision of transport and logistics to NLAS staff; Control and monitor location and movement of equipment; Maintenance custody of hospital assets registers; In charge of the proper utilization and allocation of office space and resources; Coordinate maintenance of hospital infrastructure and equipment; Coordinate the preparation of departmental budgets and work plans; Coordinate interdepartmental activities; Provide technical advice to the board and Chief Executive Officer on the Administrative function; Oversee Management of outsourced services; Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs); Coordinate the preparation and submission of periodic reports; and Ensure training needs of staff working in the department are addressed. Remuneration will be in accordance with NLAS Salary Scale: NLAS GRADE 3.
