The successful candidate will ensure accurate, reliable, and timely analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, and environmental samples while supporting food safety verification, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across all sites. Location : Tilisi Logistics Park, Limuru | Salary : Ksh. 100,000 Duties & Responsibilities • Plan, organize, and supervise daily laboratory operations and testing schedules. • Ensure timely testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, and environmental samples. • Develop, implement, and maintain Laboratory Management Systems compliant with ISO/IEC 17025 standards. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, FSSC 22000 standards, and internal QA procedures. • Support internal and external audits and maintain audit readiness at all times. • Oversee microbiological testing programs including pathogen testing, environmental monitoring, and sanitation validation. • Oversee chemical and physico-chemical analysis of products and raw materials. • Ensure laboratory methods are validated, verified, and standardized. • Ensure all laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning efficiently. • Review and approve laboratory reports, records, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs). • Support investigations into product failures, deviations, and customer complaints through root cause analysis and CAPA processes. • Train, supervise, and develop laboratory personnel to ensure competency and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with QA, Production, Supplier QA, Market QA, and R&D teams on food safety and quality initiatives. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including digitization, cost optimization, and process efficiency. Requirements & Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science/Technology, or related field. • Training in ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Management Systems is highly preferred. • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a food laboratory environment. • Proven experience in ISO/IEC 17025 LMS implementation, audit management, and documentation control systems. • Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and laboratory management systems. • Expertise in microbiological and chemical analysis methods • Knowledge of equipment calibration and metrology principles. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills. • Excellent leadership, communication, and team development abilities. • High attention to detail, integrity, and accountability. • Strong documentation and data integrity management skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
