United Nations Human Settlements Programme Anti-Racism Intern Jobs in Kenya United Nations Human Settlements Programme Anti-Racism Intern Jobs in Kenya The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat); promotes socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. As part of the UN Secretary‑General’s call to address racism and racial discrimination within the UN system, UN‑Habitat is appointing Anti‑Racism Advocates and implementing an anti‑racism strategy. This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to global sustainable urban development and anti‑racism efforts. Job Purpose To support UN‑Habitat’s Anti‑Racism Advocates in research, analysis, policy development, training, and communication, under the supervision of the Chief of the Urban Basic Services Section and the WUF Coordinator. Responsibilities Support Anti‑Racism Advocates in implementing the UN anti‑racism strategy. Conduct research and analysis of UN policies on discrimination and racism. Assist with advice and analysis on the SG’s strategic action plan, resolutions, and conventions. Draft and review policy documents, correspondence, briefing papers, and reports. Support trainings, events, and meetings (note‑taking, summary reports, action points). Maintain a library of resources and learning materials. Design, administer, and follow up on surveys on racism and discrimination. Perform other tasks as assigned. Qualifications / Special Skills Enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programme in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Communications, International Development, Urban Development, Management, Administration, or related social sciences. Computer literate in Microsoft Office. Keen interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the ideals of the Charter. Ability to interact successfully with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills. Detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and able to contribute to research projects. Languages English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. Fluency in English required; knowledge of French or another UN language desirable.
