Context Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, UNEP has a network of country and regional offices facilitating the relevant country and regional processes and coordinating coherent delivery of UNEP's programme aimed at addressing the causes of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution through seven interlinked sub-programmes for action that include: Climate Action, Chemicals and Pollution Action, Nature Action, Science Policy, Environmental Governance, Finance and Economic Transformations and Digital Transformations. This UNV assignment is based in the Resource Mobilisation & Donor Relations Unit supporting UNEP’s Corporate Services Division in mobilizing and maintaining core resources from UN Member States to the Environment Fund, UNEP’s core financial fund. Task description Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer of the Resource Mobilization & Donor Relations Unit, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • Prepare analytical profiles of funding partners, including priorities, trends, relevant policies and opportunities, to inform targeted resource mobilization efforts. • Maintain structured and up-to-date information on Member State engagement, including interactions and follow-up actions, to support internal coordination and planning for resource mobilization with Member States. • Facilitate information-sharing between headquarters and regional offices, including with regional focal points, to strengthen alignment on engagement with funding partners. • Support the coordination of structured funding dialogues at global and regional levels, including their preparation and follow-up, as platforms for partnership-building and resource mobilization. • Support the organization and follow-up of bilateral consultations and meetings with Member States and groups of Member States, including preparation of agendas, briefing materials, documentation of outcomes as well as follow-up actions. • Assist in managing relationships with funding partners through tailored communications and timely responses to queries. • Support the coordination and execution of engagement with funding partners with regard to their oversight reviews and queries. • Perform other related duties as required to support resource mobilization, partnership engagement, and internal coordination efforts.
