Min Qualification: Bachelors Experience Level: Senior level Experience Length: 8 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Kenya Job descriptions & requirements JOB TITLE HR DIRECTOR NATURE OF JOB FULL TIME INDUSTRY HEALTHCARE/HOSPITAL SALARY NEGOTIABLE JOB LOCATION EMBU DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Human Resource Leadership · Develop and implement the organization's human resource strategy in alignment with the hospital's strategic goals. · Provide strategic HR advice and guidance to the executive leadership team on workforce planning, organizational design, and people management. · Lead the development of HR policies, procedures, and best practices that support organizational excellence. · Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, organizational culture, and workforce productivity. · Develop HR metrics and dashboards to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning · Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure the hospital attracts, recruits, and retains highly qualified healthcare and support professionals. · Oversee talent acquisition strategies to meet current and future staffing requirements. · Strengthen employer branding and recruitment processes to attract top talent. · Develop succession planning frameworks for critical leadership and specialist positions. Performance Management & Talent Development · Design and oversee performance management systems that promote accountability and high performance. · Lead leadership development, learning, and employee development programs. · Develop career progression and succession planning initiatives across the organization. · Support managers in identifying high-potential employees and developing future leaders. Organizational Development & Change Management · Lead organizational development initiatives that improve effectiveness, collaboration, and employee experience. · Drive change management programs supporting organizational transformation and continuous improvement. · Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence. · Conduct organizational assessments and recommend improvements to structure, processes, and workforce capability. Employee Relations & Culture · Promote positive employee relations through fair, consistent, and transparent HR practices. · Oversee grievance handling, disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, and employee welfare programs. · Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing initiatives. · Build and sustain a positive organizational culture aligned with the hospital's values. Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations · Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness, internal equity, and compliance. · Ensure effective HR operations, including employee records management, HRIS administration, payroll coordination, and reporting. · Monitor HR budgets and optimize resource utilization. · Review and improve HR systems and processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Compliance & Risk Management · Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws, employment regulations, and applicable healthcare sector requirements. · Develop and enforce HR policies that mitigate organizational risk. · Oversee statutory compliance, employee contracts, and HR audits. · Ensure confidentiality and integrity in the management of employee information. Leadership & Stakeholder Management · Lead, mentor, and develop the Human Resources team. · Collaborate with departmental heads to address workforce challenges and support operational objectives. · Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, training institutions, and professional associations. · Present HR reports, workforce insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION · Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or another related field · A Master's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline will be an added advantage · At least 8–10 years of progressive human resource management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or strategic HR role · Demonstrated experi
