Nyahururu Water and Sanitation Company is hiring a Finance Officer to maintain effective internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies. The role is based in Nyahururu and a membership to the Institute of ICPAK is required. Job Ref: NWSCO/FO/01/2026 Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax laws and water sector regulations. Coordinate annual external audits and facilitate internal audit processes. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports. Monitor cash flow and recommend strategies to optimize financial resources. Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts. Maintain effective internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial performance. Oversee financial reporting for capital projects, grants, and donor-funded programs where applicable. Support procurement, inventory, and asset management through financial oversight. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and support their professional development. Perform any other related duties as delegated by Finance Manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other related field. Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent. Membership to the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and be of good standing. At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience with three (3) years in supervisory role. Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), taxation, and financial management practices. Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems, QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
