Min Qualification: Diploma Experience Level: Mid level Experience Length: 3 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Kenya Job descriptions & requirements Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously review EHS policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with OSHA (Kenya) and relevant East African statutory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and audits on telecom, electrical, and civil works sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Carry out risk assessments and develop method statements for high-risk activities such as tower climbing, working at heights, excavation, and electrical installations. Facilitate and deliver EHS induction, training, and toolbox talks for staff, contractors, and subcontractors. Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare root-cause analysis reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions. Maintain accurate EHS records, statistics, and reports for management and regulatory reporting purposes. Ensure availability, proper use, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all project sites. Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., DOSH) and coordinate statutory inspections, permits, and certifications. Support the development and testing of emergency response and evacuation plans. Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management and promote sustainable site practices. Advise project and site teams on EHS best practices during project planning and execution phases. Qualifications & Requirements Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is required. Registration with a recognized EHS professional body (e.g., IOSH, DOSH-recognized practitioner) is an added advantage. Minimum 3 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably within telecommunications, construction, or electrical industries. Sound knowledge of Kenyan OSHA and relevant East African EHS legislation. Experience conducting risk assessments for working at height and electrical works is highly desirable. Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively to field/project sites. Key Competencies Strong knowledge of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies. Excellent observational and analytical skills. Strong communication and training/facilitation skills. High integrity and firmness in enforcing safety compliance. Ability to work independently across multiple project sites.
