Min Qualification: Diploma Experience Level: Entry level Experience Length: 2 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Kenya Job descriptions & requirements Position Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Operator Location: Nakuru, Kenya Industry: FMCG Gender: Any Joining: Immediate Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC-controlled production systems to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and efficient manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, particularly Bühler automation platforms, and possess strong technical knowledge of PLC programming, process control, and electrical automation within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain PLC-controlled production equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. Program, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider controllers. Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical, and control system faults to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain and troubleshoot Bühler automation systems and utilize WinCos for process monitoring and control. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. Maintain and optimize Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) , industrial communication networks, sensors, actuators, servo systems, and process instrumentation. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated production equipment. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve system reliability, process efficiency, and equipment performance. Support installation, commissioning, and upgrading of automation and control systems. Maintain accurate maintenance records, system documentation, and technical reports. Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality procedures, and engineering best practices. Qualifications & Experience Degree or Diploma in Elect rical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Industrial Automation , or a related technical field. Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment. Practical experience working with Bühler automation systems . Working knowledge of WinCos . Hands-on experience programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Schneider PLCs . Strong understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) , industrial communication protocols, HMI , SCADA , sensors, actuators, servo systems, and industrial instrumentation. Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated process control systems. Key Competencies Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent understanding of industrial automation and process control. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
