The role holder also ensures that good manufacturing practices and food safety and hygiene standards are monitored and maintained as required. Key Responsibilities: Raw/Packaging materials receipt and Analysis Timely and accurate receiving, sampling and analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, bulk and finished products against the set specifications. Ensuring proper segregation of rejected materials to prevent unintended mix up. Providing accurate information/analytical results leading to sound decisions on the approval or rejection of raw materials, packaging materials, intermediate bulk and finished products. Effectively implementing all approved procedures of sampling, specifications, analysis, and reporting for all samples. Overseeing offloading at the vehicles and other stores, to be able to sample further from initial hidden parts Finished Products monitoring Monitoring fortification of flour both maize and wheat products and reporting of any non-conformances. Carrying out organoleptic assessments of wheat, maize and porridge flour daily to verify performance. Identify and report all quality and food safety issues during daily operations. Ensuring all non-conforming products and reworks are handled as per the procedure to avoid unintended mix up Prerequisite Programs monitoring Monitor CCPs OPRPs and PRPs daily and report any deviations that might affect feed quality and safety. Conduct GMPs surveillance and correct abnormalities on the spot as well as guide production teams on Good Manufacturing Practices. Monitor pest control and ensure the pest citing sheets actions are closed on time. Conduct training awareness for GMPs, FSMS, and monitor adherence. Food Safety Management System Implement ISO 22000 to ensure production of safe products. Ensure all quality records related to the food safety management system are updated on a daily basis including electronic records Conduct internal audits, GMPs audits, Glass Audits when requested to audit Any other responsibility as may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications A minimum of Degree/Diploma in Food Science/Analytical Chemistry. Knowledge of QMS – HACCP and ISO – 22000 Knowledge of chemical analysis and nutrition content of various raw materials Excellent organizational and time management skills.
