City Walk Jobs. Looking for an accounting job in Kenya? City Walk is hiring a General Accountant to manage financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations. The role is based in Nairobi and experience in a retail or FMCG environment is required. They are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven General Accountant to manage their accounts payable function, ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with tax and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities Process & Verify Supplier Invoices . Ensure accurate and timely posting in the ERP with complete documentation. Manage Supplier Records & Payments . Maintain supplier database, prepare payment schedules and ensure timely settlements. Reconcile Accounts Payable . Reconcile supplier statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies. Ensure Tax Compliance . Apply and remit VAT, Withholding Tax and other taxes in line with regulations. Support Month-End Closing & Audits . Provide accurate schedules, reconciliations and documentation for reporting and audits. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field. CPA (K), ACCA or equivalent professional certification (finalists encouraged). Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a retail or FMCG environment. Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and supplier reconciliations. Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations (VAT, Withholding Tax, PAYE, eTIMS). Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis). Key Skills Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills. Knowledge of IFRS and financial controls. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
