Corporate Staffing Services is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor position for a leading construction company. The salary for the role is based in Maldives (relocation role). Proficiency in cost estimation, contract administration (FIDIC), and claims management is required. Our client is a leading force in the Maldivian construction industry. Over the decades, they have continually evolved their management and legal frameworks to meet the demands of an ever-changing business environment—always with the goal of serving our clients’ best interests. Job Summary The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, procurement, and financial reporting. The role ensures that projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with contractual obligations. Responsibilities & Tasks Cost Planning & Estimation Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts. Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning for new projects. Monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Tendering & Procurement Prepare tender documents, BOQs, and specifications. Evaluate contractor and supplier bids and provide recommendations. Lead negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers. Contract Administration Draft, review, and manage contracts (FIDIC or equivalent). Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Handle contractual correspondence and documentation. Project Cost Control Track and control project expenditures against approved budgets. Prepare and manage interim valuations and payment certificates. Monitor variations, claims, and change orders. Claims & Dispute Management Assess and manage contractor claims and variations. Prepare and negotiate claims submissions. Support dispute resolution processes when required. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly cost reports and financial statements. Provide accurate forecasts of project costs and financial outcomes. Report financial risks and mitigation strategies to management. Measurement & Valuation Perform quantity take-offs and measurements. Evaluate completed work for interim and final payments. Prepare final accounts and ensure timely project closure. Team Leadership & Coordination Mentor and supervise junior QS staff. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and consultants. Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders. Autonomy Freedom to carry out professionally the responsibilities and tasks described above. Qualifications, Skills & Key Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in quantity surveying preferably in large scale hospitality projects Professional membership (e.g., BORAQS, AAK, MRICS) is required. Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction law. Proficiency in QS software and MS Office (Excel advanced level). Experience in cost control, contract administration, and claims management. Excellent negotiation and analytical skills. Strong commercial awareness Attention to detail and accuracy Leadership and team management Problem-solving and decision-making Communication and negotiation skills Time management and ability to meet deadlines Must have a passport Must be willing to relocate Male candidate are encouraged to apply Working Conditions Based primarily at project sites within the Maldives.
