Min Qualification: Bachelors Experience Level: Mid level Experience Length: 5 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 8 to 5 Applicant Location: Kenya Job descriptions & requirements Job Purpose: He /she will be responsible in running the operations of Field Services department, provision of quality and effective technical advice tea Outgrowers. Qualifications & Experience I. BSc degree in Agricultural extension, Agronomy, Horticulture or equivalent qualifications. II. Proven experience at least five (5) years’ experience in tea growing and extension III. Farm Management training IV. Strong leadership and managerial skills. V. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills. VI. Knowledge of budgeting, financial management and business operations. VII. Proficient in using Microsoft office and other business soft wares VIII. Driving License. KEY TASKS: a) Plan and execute farm visits, write reports and disseminate to respective farmers. b) Training and advising farmers on the best agronomic practices of tea growing and tea nurseries c) Ensuring timely dissemination of research information to farmers d) Designing and implementing sound farmers educational programme, e) Communicating to farmers of factory policy changes and other issues concerning tea Growing. f) Preparing timely and accurate departmental reports and distributing to respective users g) Monitoring the crop growth and projecting output per acre/hectare h) Monitoring supply of green leaf from contracted farms as per tea directorate guidelines. i) Ensuring that the tea supplied to the factory meet the required standards. j) Recruiting eligible new suppliers and prepare supply contract in line with the Company’s requirements k) Advising on effective utilization of resources. l) Ensuring safe custody of the company assets/property assigned. m) Ensuring proper post harvest handling standards of hygiene standards of green leaf. n) Performing timely out grower fertilizer/herbicide recruitment and issuing. o) Maintaining accurate and updated green leaf related statistics and out grower records. p) Participating in budget preparation and control. q) Implement/Supporting programmes geared towards ensuring product safety. r) Ensuring effective and profitable management of fuel wood plantation farm. s) Supervising, appraising staff and identifying their training and development needs. t) Enhancing positive corporate image with farmers and other key stakeholders. at all times. u) Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time Interested qualified candidates should submit their applications enclosing detailed Curriculum Vitae, daytime telephone contacts, names and contacts of three referees, copies of relevant professio Log In and Apply Important safety tips Do not make any payment without confirming with the BrighterMonday Customer Support Team.
