Read more about this company Pharmacist-Kakamega Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 2 years Location Kakamega Job Field Pharmaceutical Overall Responsibility The pharmacist is responsible for providing professional pharmaceutical services and overseeing the day-to-day management of the facility pharmacy. The role ensures the safe, effective, and rational use of medicines through dispensing, inventory management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, clinical pharmacy support, and leadership of pharmacy operations to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide professional pharmaceutical services, including prescription review, dispensing, patient counseling, and medication therapy management. Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy to ensure efficient, safe, and uninterrupted service delivery. Plan, procure, receive, store, and manage pharmaceutical products and medical consumables to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize expiries and stock-outs. Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, professional standards, licensing requirements, and hospital policies. Manage controlled medicines and ensure proper documentation, storage, accountability, and reporting. Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the performance of pharmacy personnel to promote high standards of service delivery. Collaborate with clinicians to promote rational prescribing, medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and optimal patient care. Monitor, investigate, and report medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and other medication-related incidents while implementing corrective actions. Develop and implement pharmacy quality improvement initiatives, standard operating procedures, and risk management measures.
