Responsible for monitoring quality standards, conducting audits, identifying compliance gaps, and supporting continuous improvement within the airline’s operations. Requires a relevant qualification in aviation, quality management, engineering, or a related field. The role is based in Nairobi with duties performed on-site. Role Purpose Statement: Under the general direction and guidance of the Head of Quality – AOC, the Quality Officer – AOC is responsible for implementing an audit system to monitor compliance with Civil Aviation Regulations and company procedures. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate the execution of the Quality Assurance Audit Program for Jambojet Operations, including outsourced functions, as outlined in the QMSM. Follow up with auditees on the closure of findings as per QMSM, ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively. Analyze quality audit and inspection findings, establishing negative trends that require closer monitoring. Coordinate with the Quality Officer – AMO to ensure uniform implementation of the quality system, with input from both Maintenance and Operations sections of the Quality Department. Manage quality audit records, documents, and publications on the IQM system or any other electronic system established by Jambojet. Monitor the retention period of quality records as required by regulations and Jambojet QMSM. Participate in regular Quality Departmental Meetings to review and continuously improve the Jambojet Quality Management System. Participate in the Jambojet Safety Action Group (SAG) and use safety incident reports to identify areas requiring QA attention. Carry out health checks and generate reports on the QMS/SMS System to establish optimization, ensuring continuous improvement. Prepare and disseminate quality assurance information through approved communication channels, as requested by the Head of Quality. Research quality trends from the industry for continuous improvement initiatives. Control and coordinate quality training programs. Perform audit functions as assigned Qualifications: Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Flight Dispatch or a related field from a recognized university. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience: in aircraft maintenance/Flight/Ground or a quality assurance role within the aviation industry. Experience: in conducting audits and implementing quality management systems in an aviation environment. Certification: Training and certification in Quality Management Systems, recognized by the aviation industry. Relevant certifications from aviation regulatory authorities (e.g., KCAA) pertaining to aircraft maintenance and safety standards.
